Your community interest details
We collect your first name, email, stay category, optional host volunteering, and arrival/departure dates for temporary stays and visits to plan gatherings in your selected community. Communities are for people aged 18 and older. Do not enter a home address or accommodation.
Your details are private and accessible to your selected community’s moderator, the project administrator, and the services processing registration. They are not published as profiles or shared with other members.
We send one confirmation email through Resend when you submit the form. Its code expires in 15 minutes. Your email and the confirmation message are processed by Resend; the registration database is hosted by Supabase, and this website is hosted by Vercel. Their operational logs and backups may have separate retention periods. We do not send gathering updates or marketing emails.
Confirmed registrations are kept for up to 90 days, then removed by daily cleanup within 24 hours of expiry. Unconfirmed details are removed within 24 hours of the confirmation code expiring. We keep a hashed email identifier for request limits for up to 48 hours after its last active request window; we do not store your IP address in the registration database.
For a correction, deletion, or privacy question, email connect@expatconnect.app from the address you registered. The administrator will verify your request before changing or deleting your details. Deletion from the active database does not immediately erase service logs or backups.
Registering interest does not create an account, public profile, or event RSVP. Moderator sign-in creates a separate Supabase account, using your email and a one-time code delivered by Resend. We keep that account and the communities you create until you request deletion. Account deletion may require transferring or closing a community you moderate. We use secure session cookies to keep moderators signed in. Community city, country, heading, and introduction are public; moderator email addresses are not. Policy version: October 6, 2026 (city communities).
